Our education

Children receive education until they are ready to move on to regular Dutch school. We try to achieve this within a year. Mastering the oral and written language is a very important factor. A (simple) instruction from the teacher must be easy to follow. The student must also be able to feel confident and work independently.

Tailor-made services

At De Rainbow we look at the qualities of a child and we provide tailor-made services and guidance. Our starting point is to make children proficient in the Dutch language, to increase self-reliance in order to get a grip on their new living environment. Language education is central to our offer and is linked to cognitive, creative and sporting activities.

Competent teachers

It is important that education is given by competent teachers who consciously stimulate language development. Teachers speak clearly, use correct sentence structure and use short sentences. This is supported by using visual materials and obvious gestures. 

School Support Profile (SOP)

Within appropriate education, schools work together to offer this as well as possible for every child. This overview gives a brief picture of the support that our school can offer children. Especially when it comes to specific support needs.

Whether a school is the right place for a child will always become clear from an individual conversation about the child's needs. This overview is a summary of the School Support Profile (SOP) and provides a first direction

Education is provided in groups of around 15 children, divided by age and development level. Within the group, each child receives a tailor-made offer. This offer is determined based on the child's starting level.

  - initial reading
  - beginning technical reading
  - advanced technical reading
  - reading comprehension 
• Mathematics 
• Social-emotional education 
• World orientation (within the themes) 
• Creative education: music, handicrafts, drama
